Reinking to play on ESPN2 Thursday

Nate Reink­ing — a 1992 grad­u­ate of Galion High School where he is the career scor­ing leader in bas­ket­ball — will be play­ing for the Great Britain men’s national team against the United State’s olympic squad in an exhi­bi­tion game that will be tele­vised live Thurs­day at 2 p.m. East­ern Day­light Time on ESPN2.

The 38-year-old Reink­ing has been play­ing pro­fes­sion­ally over­seas for 16 years. After grad­u­at­ing from GHS, he went on to star in bas­ket­ball at Kent State Uni­ver­sity where he was a four-year let­ter­man. He is sev­enth all-time on the career scor­ing list at KSU.

The old­est bas­ket­ball player in the Olympics, Reinking’s pri­mary posi­tion on the Great Britain squad is that of shoot­ing guard. He may also see some backup duty at point guard.
