Dylan Robert McHenry

MANSFIELD—Dylan Robert McHenry, 22, of Ontario passed away July 12, 2012. He was born in West­er­ville, Ohio on Novem­ber 17, 1989 to Beth (McHenry) Shen­berger and Robert Norton.

A grad­u­ate of Ontario High School, Class of 2008, Dylan was active as a catcher in the base­ball pro­gram, and enjoyed his time as a mem­ber of the foot­ball team as well. He had a big heart, and was a friend to all. First and fore­most in his life was his fam­ily, and being the best father, son, brother, grand­son, fiancée, and friend. He took great plea­sure in being able to help peo­ple. Hon­esty, intel­li­gence, and a good degree of humor sur­rounded Dylan, and it afforded him many friend­ships through­out his life. Spend­ing qual­ity time with his friends, co-workers, and fam­ily was extremely impor­tant to Dylan. Though he was just twenty-two years young, he had already started a con­struc­tion busi­ness, Cal­loway Con­struc­tion, with a friend. He had an entre­pre­neur­ial spirit that helped to keep the busi­ness strong. A good friend of Dylan’s reflected upon his life, say­ing … “Yes­ter­day brought the begin­ning. Tomor­row brings the end, and some­where in the mid­dle, we became the best of friends.” Any­one who knew Dylan, his pas­sion, his kind­ness, his peace in this life, would know that all who came to know him were bet­ter for it, as he always man­aged to place the needs of oth­ers first.

He is sur­vived by his mother, Beth (McHenry) Shen­berger; father, Robert and Karen Nor­ton; the loves of his life, Jes­sica Gras­sel and their daugh­ter, Lilli; sis­ter, Baylee Shen­berger; brother, Jake Nor­ton; grand­par­ents, Bar­bara Williams-Walters and James Wal­ters, Richard McHenry, and Carol and George Nor­ton; great grand­mother, Eliz­a­beth McHenry; numer­ous aunts, uncles, and cousins; busi­ness part­ner and close friend, Jeremy Peo­ples; and numer­ous friends and the com­mu­nity of Ontario. He was pre­ceded in death by his great grand­fa­ther, Richard V. McHenry; great grand­mother, Kath­leen Williams; and friend, Rachel Wilson.

Friends may call Wednes­day, July 18, 2012 from 4:00–8:00 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wapp­ner Funeral Direc­tors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Ontario. Funeral ser­vices will be held Thurs­day, July 19, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home con­ducted by Buddy Wal­ters. Bur­ial will fol­low in Ontario Cemetery.
