CU Lead grad Amy Sullivan is the coordinator of Together Time, a nonprofit group devoted to bringing families together. Together Time hosted a scavenger hunt in Bucyrus on June 23.

Fourteen families gathered at the crossroads square in Bucyrus for a scavenger hunt on Saturday (June 23) morning. The event was organized by Together Time and sponsored by the Bucyrus Rotary Club.
Two routes were planned for participants and each one took them to local businesses, some of which gave out snacks and goody bags. At some destinations, the next clue was given at the front of the building, and at others, families went inside to find the next one. The clues were rhymes, mazes, word searches and other fun activities for kids to solve. Sometimes they needed a little help from their parents.
The final clue asked questions about the crossroads mural, taking the families back to the starting point. Every child receives a prize at Together Time events; the prize for the scavenger hunt was a canteen.

Amy Sullivan, a graduate of CU Lead, created Together Time as her project for the program. Its mission is to “facilitate fun, family-oriented activities outside of the home for parents and children in Crawford County.”
With the help of six of her coworkers at Ohio Mutual Insurance Group, Sullivan planned several events for the summer, beginning with Saturday’s hunt. Sullivan wanted her CU Lead project to bring families together because she has a seven-year-old daughter, Sydney, who participated that morning with Sullivan’s husband, Rob.
Many of the other CU Lead grads attended with their children to support Together Time. All of Sullivan’s coworkers who helped plan the Together Time events were there as well to help and/or participate, including Andrea Presler. She was there with her daughter to help Sullivan get participants signed up. All of the Together Time volunteers are mothers like them. “I couldn’t have done it without [the other mothers],” Sullivan said.

This event brought people into downtown Bucyrus, but the next two events will be held elsewhere. On Saturday, July 14 head to Heise Park in Galion for Discovery Bingo. It will be held at the pavillion by the playground. Then, on Aug. 11 at Aumiller Park in Bucyrus, prepare for Treasure Map. Both events begin at 10 a.m.
