The Galion Racist Snicker
The gentleman stands up to speak during a city council meeting and tells everyone he thinks the city and its employees are doing a crappy job of fill in the blank. Tempers heat up and within five short minutes the room breaks out in colorful metaphors.
Galion is better than that.
The businessman finishes painting his building. He steps back and enjoys his hard work. A neighbor comments that he should take a picture because it won’t last long. They join in a bitter chuckle. That night the prophetic humor comes to pass and stolen blue and white spray paint highlights the fresh beauty with angry symbols.
Galion is better than that.
Husband and wife are yelling again. The neighbors call the police to break it up. The officers arrive to once again take on the role of mom and dad. This time hubby is not arrested. Officers comment they are fairly certain they wil lbe back to the same residence the following night.
Galion is better than that.
The young man of color walks into a restaurant to meet friends for lunch. As he passes a certain table he hears the old familiar Galion Racist Snicker. He’s been to Galion before. He smiles as he finds his friends and they greet one another.
The occasional cruel comments don’t bother him because he also knows Galion is better than that.
