Martien, captain; and L. P. Fabian. Middle, M. D. Martien and R. C. Fabian. Bottom, J. L. Wolf, R. M. Russell, C. C. Herndon, Patsy the fire dog, H. B. Dukeman and T. E. Edmundson. Durtschi continued as fire chief into the late 1970s, according to Galion fire Lt. Todd Eagle. Leo Fabian worked at the Galion fire department for 40 years and J. F. A trip down memory lane. As a young boy growing up in the 60’s and 70’s in Galion, I remember Leo Fabian. Watching Engine 4 roll down Harding Way West, Federal siren screaming and Leo hanging on the tailboard. I remember the JC Penny fire and the old ladder truck extended over the building. Wish the photo was posted better, would like to see a larger image. Interesting how images as a youth stick with you. Like many memories, things were bigger then.….
