The Crawford County Board of Commissioners met in open session on Tuesday, Jan. 24.
The commissioners approved a resolution to accept bids for the construction of a 40 feet by 60 feet salt storage building for the County Highway Department. Bids will be accepted until 10 a.m. on Feb. 9.
Scott Kibler from Help Me Grow met with the commissioners to discuss pending legislative changes that may affect how the program is currently administered and funded. Help Me Grow is a State program providing home safety and other education for new and expectant mothers. Although there are no changes at this time, the program is ultimately under the control of the commissioners, and Mr. Kibler wanted to give them advance warning of any possible changes once new legislation is passed.
In last week’s business, the commissioners approved the designation of United Bank, Bucyrus, to be a public depository of monies for the Crawford County Municipal Court.
The Board of Commissioners approved the abolishment of the position of Human Resource Manager and the laying off of one employee, effective Feb. 6.
Approval was given to coordinate information by the Crawford County Data Processing Board in lieu of the County Records Commission and County Microfilm Board. All records, equipment, microfilm, etc. will now be transferred from the County Records Commission and County Microfilm Board to County Data Processing Board.
A quote was accepted and approved for the purchase of one 2012 AutoCAD LT license for use by and funding through the County Engineer.
The Agreement between Lucas County Commissioners, Lucas County Coroner, Crawford County Commissioners and Crawford County Coroner was approved for the use of the Lucas County Coroner for autopsy services at the rate of $1,200 per autopsy, plus mileage expenses.
The commissioners also approved a contract with Crawford Soil & Water Conservation District for educational services relative to recycling & litter prevention. The amount of $8,750 for 2012 services will be paid as part of the annual allocation to the Soil & Water Conservation District.
