Update on 61 crash

The badly dam­aged motor­cy­cle and debris ended up in the front yard of a res­i­dence on State Route 61. The fatal acci­dent occurred at 8:20 a.m. on Friday.

At approx­i­mately 9:50 a.m. the Galion Police Depart­ment advised that the traf­fic acci­dent which occurred on State Route 61 between State Route 309 and U.S. Route 30 had been upgraded to a fatal­ity acci­dent. The col­li­sion occurred at 8:20 a.m. Fri­day and involved a box truck and a motor­cy­cle, accord­ing to Lt. Lynn Ster­ling of the GPD.

No other details are being released at this time. The Craw­ford County Sher­iff Depart­ment, as well as the Ohio State High­way Patrol and Life Star EMS assisted the GPD.

Emer­gency per­son­nel responded to the acci­dent on State Route 61 Fri­day morning.

The Galion policed closed State Route 61 after the acci­dent and reopened the road at about 11:30 a.m. Friday.
